The location of the hotel was amazing, with beautiful views of the river and a great pool area. The staff were excellent and really made us feel welcome. Plus, the food was some of the best we had in Costa Rica.
The rooms were quite basic and could use some refurbishment.

The property is located in a beautiful area with stunning views of the river and lush gardens. The rooms are nicely decorated and the pool is a great place to relax. It was a treat to see monkeys, sloths, and various reptiles in the hotel's garden.
The transportation to and from the village was limited and required an additional fee. The discommunication about the buffet dinner was frustrating and led to us having to go back to the village for a meal.

I recently stayed at a fantastic lodge in Tortuguero and had a wonderful time. The location was perfect, just a 5-minute boat ride away from downtown. The hotel provided its own boat, making transportation a breeze. The room was comfortable and private, allowing for a peaceful stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my visit. The hotel also had a restaurant and a pool, adding to the overall convenience and enjoyment of my stay. One of the highlights was the turtle tour, which was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this lodge for its great location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and exciting tour options.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We also enjoyed the unique experience of reaching the lodge by boat and taking boat taxis to explore the nearby village. the staff at the lodge were incredibly helpful, and the meals served were delicious, even if they didn't offer a wide variety of options.
Nothing was too much trouble for them, which made our experience even more enjoyable.

We had a fantastic time at La Baula Lodge during our recent stay in Tortuguero. The manager, Andres, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect. The location, nestled in a secluded and peaceful patch of rainforest, was a unique and beautiful setting. We loved waking up to the sound of howler monkeys and observing monkeys right outside our room. The swimming pool area was great for relaxation and the breakfast was hands down the best we had throughout our Costa Rican adventure. The value for money was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the grounds were well-maintained.
Totally recommend this hotel.

The rooms were clean and basic, with comfortable beds and a great shower. The pool was perfect for cooling off from the heat, and the gardens were well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist with any requests. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and satisfying, and the option to have my freshly caught fish cooked for lunch or dinner was a nice touch. The lodge also provided a package that included boat trips and a walking tour, giving me the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife. I had a memorable experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Good value for money.

The location of the hotel was perfect, right by the water and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. It was a great spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any request. Plus, the hotel had a nice pool where you could cool off and enjoy the view.
That the breakfast buffet was not available for early risers. If you had an early tour booked, there was no opportunity to grab some food before heading out.
